Portsmouth museum's butterflies could get new £130,000 home
PLANS have been unveiled to create a new Butterfly House at a Portsmouth museum.
A council report says the existing wildlife facility at Cumberland House Museum has been in operation since the 1970s. And while it is a popular attraction, drawing in families, a survey has identified it’s now become ‘beyond economic repair’ and needs to be made more ‘butterfly friendly’.
Tory culture boss, Cllr Linda Symes, will consider whether to release £130,000 of funding to pay for a replacement at a public meeting on Friday, December 9.
