EMERGENCY crews showed solidarity with NHS workers fighting coronavirus after delivering their applause during the Thursday evening ritual.

Cosham Fire Station’s white watch stood opposite police counterparts as they delivered a hearty clap to those putting their lives on the line in the struggle to defeat Covid-19.

In the video, posted by Cosham Fire Station, the emergency workers stand two metres apart with lights flashing on fire engines and police cars to mark the occasion.

Passing traffic is even brought to a temporary standstill to honour the moment.

The scene was one that was seen throughout the region on a warm evening as people clapped and cheered to pay homage to the unstinting efforts of the brave NHS workers.
